Beijing 'Angel' Grass (Murdannia loriformis)

Beijing Grass (Murdannia loriformis), also known as Angel Grass, is an exotic and rare, but easily cultivated medicinal herb in the Spiderwort family.  Beijing Grass has been an important healing herb in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries. It helps to support and strengthen the immune system, detoxify the body, and aid in respiratory healing. It is rich in flavonoids, syringic acid, and glycosphingolipids (G1B). This plant is currently being studied for its documented anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and possible anti-mutagenic properties.

It has a beautiful low, grassy habit only reaching 3 to 6 inches in height but will spread quickly. It can be grown in pots or in the ground where temperatures do not get below freezing in the winter. It will easily overwinter indoors. Culture is full sun to part sun with average moisture. Plants produce small white blooms.

Plants are grown and shipped in 2" plugs. Please transplant the plug into a container of soil and water immediately upon arrival.

NOTE:  Live plants are shipped ONLY on Tuesday of each week. If your order is received by Sunday, it will ship out on the following Tuesday. We close rooting season in the colder months of November through February. Our last orders for the season need to be received by October 15.
